Assessor Records

Services available include, but not limited to: property descriptions, property tax ID numbers, land values, state equalized values, taxable values, current owner information, sales data, and principal residence information. Also, call this office if there has been a change of ownership or mailing address. This office also handles Principal Residence Exemptions and Board of Review information. A $3.00 fee for each property card is charged if requested in person and picked up at the office. A $5.00 fee applies to all property cards forward via fax.

Zoning Board of Appeals will hear cases where a variance is requested, a conflict with land use permit exists, or other matters referred to it as indicated in the Township's Zoning Ordinance. The property owner is responsible for payment of the following fees: Newspaper Advertisement; Mailing fees; Copy fees; Zoning Board of Appeals members salary. If more than one case is being heard at the same meeting, costs are evenly divided among property owners. More information is available by calling the Township office.

Negaunee Township Water Department

Negaunee Township provides municipal water service principally to residents living within the area one mile north and south of US-41/28. The Water Department serves approximately 430 customers.

 This system consists of two wells and a two hundred thousand gallon elevated storage tank located by the Community Center on M-35. With the existing pumps the maximum they can produce is about 792,000 gallons /24 hours. Current use per day is about 85,000 gallons per day during the winter and about 110,000 gallons per day in the summer months. NO chemicals are added to the water for treatment prior to it being delivered to water customers

.

Water meter readings are done by our Water Dept staff during the last week of each month. PLEASE keep your meter accessible during this week especially during snow season.

Community Building/ Room Rental
Renters are required to provide proof of homeowners liability insurance. Renters do their own table set up, but clean up is included in rental fee. White paper table covers are included in rental fee. Kitchen is equipped with restaurant stove and refrigerator, 2 100-cup coffee pots & a 30-cup coffee pot.

Recreation Facilities:
Community Center Park-Picnic-Playground-Recreation Area The park is located behind the community has playground equipment, picnic tables and grills, a basketball court, tennis court, pavilion, nature trail, and Little League, Babe Ruth, and softball fields. In addition, there is an outdoor ice rink and well maintained cross country ski trails. All outdoor facilities are open to the public and are free of charge. Kivela Road Recreation Area. Located in the northern section of the Township, this is our newest park. It has a softball field, playground equipment, basketball court, nature trail and cross country ski trail.
