NEW PLAYGROUND - SPRING 2023

After much planning (including financial planning) over the past 5 years, Negaunee Township has put in a purchase order for new playground equipment.   The Township has been working with Penchura – a company which has supplied several local communities with playgrounds and activity centers.

$340,000 in equipment has been ordered to be installed during this phase of construction. More play stations will be added through the years as funds become available.

The playground will be in the space where the old soccer field was located, with a sign currently posted in the area to show the new location.  Ground leveling will begin in the Fall of 2022 so installation of the equipment can begin as soon as the snow leaves in Spring, 2023.    We will be working with local entities on installing the structure.

Future plans including moving the existing pavilion to a position closer to the playground along with removing the vault toilets and replacing them with true bathrooms.
