We are now accepting credit and debit card full and partial payments ONLINE. All due dates and fees still apply. If a partial payment is made, the Township will MAIL you a receipt reflecting that payment.  

Due to COVID-19, debit and credit card payments are only accepted online or over the phone during business hours. Fees apply.  Click the link below for Terms of Service and a Tax Payment Fee Schedule - which differ from the fees assessed for other payments to the Township.

Tax Payments - Fee Schedule

  • Check payments can still be made via mail or our drop box. A receipt will be mailed to you.
  • Cash payments are available in person by APPOINTMENT ONLY. Please call for further instructions.

  Separate checks need to be written for Tax, Water and Garbage payments.  


Summer Taxes

The Summer tax bills are payable each year starting on July 1st. Summer taxes are payable at the Township Office from July 1st until September 14th , with no interest.  Beginning September 15th, a 1% interest will be added each month tax payments are delinquent.  On February 15th, an additional 3% penalty will be added.

Winter Taxes

Winter tax bills are payable each year starting on December 1st. Winter taxes are payable at the Township Office from December 1st until February 15th , with no interest.  Beginning February 16th, a 3% penalty will be added.

The Summer and Winter taxes are payable at the Township Office until the last day of February.

MCL 211.78a(2). On March 1 in each year, taxes levied in the immediately preceding year that remain unpaid shall be returned to the County as delinquent for collection. However, if the last day in a year that taxes are due and payable before being returned as delinquent is on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the last day taxes are due and payable before being returned as delinquent is on the next business day

After taxes are returned to the County as delinquent both Summer and Winter Real Property taxes are ONLY payable to the Marquette County Treasurer at the Marquette County Courthouse.  It is the taxpayers responsibility for the additional interest and penalties owed to the Marquette County Treasurer.
